The Weekend Edition #91

September 8, 2019

Happy Sunday! Have you had a good week? It’s been a week of getting back to normal for us as it’s back to a routine of sorts. The only different thing is that Alfie started primary school this week! I found taking him to school on the first day much more emotional than I thought I would. With him dressed so smartly, he still seems so small. However, he was more than ready and went in without a goodbye or anything!

I am also doing a No Spend September and it’s going well. I feel so much more in control of my finances during the first week of September than I did during the entirety of August, so that’s good. I am loving my new cash envelope set up and think that’s also helping. I did a YouTube video about it if you want to have a look! I will also have one up later this morning with my cash envelopes for the week ahead.

In terms of the next week it should be fairly quiet? I’m hoping so anyway! That should continue my good streak of No Spend Days 🙂

5 things I’ve enjoyed/been grateful for this week:

1) Back in a routine – I like routine.

2) Seeing my boy go to school for the first time.

3) Hearing Alfie say that he’s proud of himself <3

4) Porridge with warmed berries and peanut butter.

5) The cooler nights.

What have you enjoyed reading this week? Any plans for the week ahead? I’d love to hear about it!

I am making huge efforts to keep our September spend down. I am currently around the $200 (AUS). the car has consumed half of that. A quarter was spent on my granddaughter’s birthday. I will need to plan our grocery shop very carefully.

Keep up the progress and good work.
