The Weekend Edition #87

July 28, 2019

Happy Sunday! It’s been a strange week; I am so not a fan of the heat and therefore glad it’s a bit cooler this weekend.  Plus it has been the first week on holiday for me, by myself with the two boys. It’s been lovely but chaotic 😉 they’re very loud at times!

But, I also had a different experience – for me – this week. On Monday I did a telephone interview with the Daily Mail and then on Tuesday they sent a make up artist, hair dresser and photographer! They even sent clothes and shoes. So I got a total make over – both make up and hair – then dressed up in a fancy dress and heels. They wanted pictures of me with my children but it was so hot that day that it didn’t go well. So, on Thursday my article was in the Daily Mail but no picture! Instead, there was a picture of a girl about age 5. So, a bit off but never mind.

Finances wise, I feel like I’ve totally lost it this month; we keep finding things that we need to purchase in terms of household items. It’s Alfie’s birthday in August so we’ve bought a couple of things for that plus paid for his birthday party. Then as I’m now not at work, it’s easier than ever to spend money. Argh! So yes, totally out of touch for spending wise. I need to do better in August, if I can.

Finally, I have hit 2300 followers on Instagram which is great! I am loving the interactions over there at the moment. If you have an account, follow along 🙂 I’d love to get to 2500 soon, if possible.

5 things I’ve enjoyed/been grateful for this week:

1) Cuddles with my children – they are enjoying being together more often.

2) I have finally finished this book – only taken me nearly a year.

3) The rain after all the heat; I love listening to it.

4) Watching Alfie at gymnastics as he loves it.

5) My family.

What have you enjoyed reading this week? Any plans for the week ahead? I’d love to hear about it!

Interesting article, shame about the photos not actually being you 🙁

Only thing is though, the article states one of the things you did was go “advertisement free” .. makes a lot of sense and takes temptation away!

Serious question so please have the honesty and guts to answer it .. do you not think that is slightly hypocritical given the amount of adverts and affiliate links in your blog?

I have taken the time to email you about this; you make it sound like I have a huge amount of adverts and affiliate links on here when in fact it’s very little.

And if it’s tempting to you, then do what I have done, and don’t visit! Simple 🙂
