September Aims

September 1, 2016

Hello September! It’s always a mixed emotions month for me, as it means back to work after always having the summer off. This year it seems to be proving especially hard as I am leaving the Frugal Baby again after having so much time with him and making more memories. It really has been lovely 🙂

September is always a quieter month for us, and at this point in time, we have nothing planned for the entire month. A slow, steady month is on the cards! I’m hoping that this will mean a very positive month in terms of our finances, to get back on track after a not so great August. I think that being back at work will definitely help with those NSDs which seem to be so elusive at the moment!

Financial aims for September:

– Have 20 No Spend Days (NSDs)

– Overpay our mortgage by £100

– Put £700 into savings

Even though I haven’t met my NSD target for July or August, I am raising my target for September. The fact that we have nothing planned and it tends to be a quieter month means that hopefully I will reach this. I just need to get back to my very organised self! Being at work will help this, as I tend to manage to have NSDs when I’m at work as I take lunch with me.  Continuing with plodding along with mortgage payments, I am aiming for £100 this month, as that seems like a good number to aim for at the moment. Lastly, as I didn’t meet this aim in August, I have kept my savings aim the same for September. I am very hopefully to beat this target, but we shall see!

Personal Aims For September:

– lose 8lbs

– make a decision about the staircase/hallway

– read two books from my “to read” pile

So, although I maintained my weight for August, I need to get serious about losing weight this month if I’m ever going to get to my #thirtybefore30 challenge. I’m at 11lbs down so far, so got a bit to go! I feel like I’m back on the right mindset for losing weight though; I feel determined to do well this month. Again, as I’m now back at work and don’t have my own kitchen right next door, this should help! Our staircase and hallway is still nowhere near finished, and we need to make a decision about what we’re going to do about it. I’m fed up of living with it in such a mess! Finally, I have lots of books that I have yet to read, so I’m getting back to reading for me, so here’s to finishing another two books from my pile.

Here’s to September being great!
