February Aims

February 1, 2022

Hello February! I’ll be honest, January did not go to plan. Well, the second part of it didn’t anyway. I tested positive for Covid half way through the month and have been quite poorly since. I am still not recovered and it’s frustratingly slow. However, I am trying to look ahead and hopefully will be back to normal soon.

February is a quiet month for us. However, we are supposed to be going away towards the end of the month which I am hoping to be better for. Obviously that comes with additional spending but I am looking forward to getting away. Sometimes a change of scenery is good, right? Plus getting outside and making memories. All part of the long term journey!

As always, the start of a new month means new goals. I haven’t posted them here for a while but I do them every month to keep me in check. Otherwise I tend to drift and I love some monthly aims to focus on.

My Financial aims for February are:

– Have 18 No Spend Days (NSDs)

– Overpay the mortgage by £100

– Put £800 into savings

I am going to try for a Frugal February, as part of our Year of Extreme Frugal Living. It shouldn’t be hard to stay on track as the budget is tight so no room for extra spending. That being said,  I am also hoping to work on my side hustles – have you seen my  Virtual Assistant Handbook? – and continue to build different sources of income. I just need to work on my time management! Alongside working, busy family life, YouTube and other social media ventures, it can be difficult to find the time and motivation to do things.

My Personal Aims for February are:

– finish reading my current reading book

– continue to eat healthily

– enjoy our time away

Reading is my thing but I haven’t had the energy to do any recently. I got this book for Christmas which I started so I want to finish it. It seems good so far, I just need to get to bed at a reasonable time so I’m not too tired to read.

Having Covid has really messed with my sense of taste and smell. I lost both completely when I first got it and although they are now back, they’re not the same. Some things taste slightly strange and my sense of smell isn’t as good as it used to be. So I need to keep making sure I am eating lots of fresh foods, hitting my 5 a day and generally being healthy. My body needs some extra nourishment at the moment.

Enjoy our holiday 🙂

Here’s to February being great! What are your aims for the month? I’d love to hear them!

I’m lucky if I have more than one no spend day haha. I feel similarly about reading, but I’ve been getting back into it a bit more this year. Cheers!
