The Weekend Edition #82

April 7, 2019

Happy Sunday! Have you had a good week? I’ll be honest, this week has been incredibly stressful and didn’t finish particularly well, so I’m glad it is over. In fact, with all the building work going on, it feels like we’re not going to get back to normal for a long time. It is progressing nicely, but it is disruptive and it is having an impact on the boys; they’re more unsettled that normal and I think that’s because our house isn’t looking like it normally does.

That being said, I feel like we’re having a good start to April. I have managed to have 4 NSDs so far, and our spends on the other days have been low. I guess that’s a silver lining to being busy! When I used to work full time I found it so easy to not spend during the week. Now I work part time with two children, I find this more tricky.

However, I’ve been filling in my trusty NSD tracker to keep me update with my spending habits. I definitely have a habit of spending on a Thursday, which is a day I’m not at work. Sometimes it can be a small spend but these add up over time. Another little victory is that I had a NSD yesterday, which was my first spend free Saturday in a long time.

I also sat yesterday and updated my April Budget Planner and filmed another YouTube video with a budget update on it. I’d love it if you could check it out and subscribe to my channel! You can see what is happening to our budget and which category is already over half gone already.

5 things I’ve enjoyed/been grateful for this week:

1) Spending time with my mum 🙂

2) Still plodding on with this book – it’s good.

3) Hot, tasted hot cross buns with butter on, so yum.

4) Seeing the progress on the extension – it’s starting to look different!

5) Watching my two boys’ relationship grow.

And, in case you’ve missed them, these are the topics I’ve posted about recently:

– Can You Be Eco-Friendly On A Budget?

– Dividend Income March 2019

– April Aims

What have you enjoyed reading this week? Any plans for the week ahead? I’d love to hear about it!
