February Aims

February 1, 2019

Hello February! A new month, finally šŸ™‚Ā February should be another quiet month for The Frugal Cottage household. Although, having said that, hopefully our extension work will start this month, at some point. It is looking like it’ll be near the end of the month, but of course all this is weather permitting! I’m a bit anxious about the process but it’ll be worth it in the end.

Ā

January was a great month for our finances; we really didn’t spend a lot at all and it showed in our month end reports. I’m hoping that February will be the same! I’ve got my budget planner all set up and ready to go šŸ™‚ we don’t have anything major planned and as we are busy sorting out and running supplies down, it should be a fairly frugal month.

Ā

My Financial aims for February are:

– HaveĀ 17Ā NoĀ SpendĀ Days (NSDs)

– Overpay our mortgage by £185

– Put £670Ā into savings

Ā

I managed to meet my target for NSDs in January, so I’m hoping to do the same in February! I have reduced the number by one as it’s a shorter month. I’m not going to let that put me off though – I can do this! Ā I am so determined, plus I think that filling in my budget planner every day will help. I’m hoping soĀ šŸ™‚Ā our mortgage overpayment aim will be the same each month from now on. And lastly, a very specific number into savings, which will be the same every month this year, I should think.

Ā

My Personal Aims For February:

– loseĀ 6lbs

– design and upload another two products in TFC Shop šŸ™‚

– go to bedĀ early!

Ā

I have started the year off well in terms of losing weight, and want to continue this way. I still have a way to go! The one habit I am trying desperately to break is to not get something to eat once the boys are in bed asleep  – any tips for this? – and this should help. I finally got my shop up and sorted, so I want to get another couple of Ā products finished and up in there – I know exactly what this will be. Just need to find the time to make them! Ā And, as part of my 2019 goals, I want to get a better night time routine, which includes going to bed earlier. Sometimes will be tricky with a 1 year old who wakes, but I’m hoping to get better at this.

Ā

Here’s to February being great! What are your aims for the month? I’d love to hear them!

I’m going to try and have an ultra-user-frugal-February, with no unplanned spending, using up food from stores and only buying what is on my list when I do shop. Taking my lead from another money saver I follow

I am reminding myself to use what is at home before buying. As for the eating thing I am bad at this too. One trick I employ is to clean my teeth as soon as I can. Then I think twice about eating after that.

I did well in January but so far February has been somewhat of a disaster šŸ™ Start of a new week and hopefully back on track. Thanks for the inspiration!
